NFT Paris: Where Business, Art, and Fun meet in Person.
If there's one thing we've learned from NFT Paris, people still crave in-person connections.
You just can't beat the feeling of meeting someone for the first time, having a great conversation, or enjoying a nice dinner together. Even in this digital age, trust and human relationships are the foundation of a successful business.
For the first time, I felt we were heading toward a more diverse audience. Of course, there is still a way to go, but at least it felt much better than other events I attended.
Around 10,000 people attended NFT Paris, which shows that there is still significant interest in this emerging space. However, we can all agree that it will take a while to see mainstream adoption.
Besides the actual event, I always try to be on the small side events, where people meet behind the scenes. Those are very often that have the power to move the needle. Investors, brands, and builders get together, discuss new ideas and join forces.
It was great to see that the VCs and investors I met are still looking to invest in the space.
And it was even more exciting to speak with representatives from some of the greatest brands in the world, such as Adidas, Audi, Balmain, Birkenstock, Hugo Boss, LVMH, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Nivea, Porsche, Rimowa, and VW, among others. None of them are backing out or losing interest. On the road to broader adoption, brands will play a vital role in driving interest and acceptance.
One of my highlights of NFT Paris was the work of Tom Sachs, who is now innovatively using NFTs. I remember seeing his mind-blowing exhibition in Hamburg two years ago, which had nothing to do with "Web3".
What's so impressive about Tom Sachs is that he has naturally integrated NFTs into his art. As a result, he's a great example of how to bridge both the classic art world and the emerging world of NFTs and digital art. His storytelling is something everyone can learn from. So you can be excited about the next stop of his Rocket Factory!
Finally, one personal anecdote made NFT Paris even more special for me. I brought my 17-year-old son to the event. He's deeply interested in Web3 and is already a moderator on a Discord for the Web3 project of Kickz, so he's familiar with the space.
It was amazing to see how easily he connected with people from all over and quickly made impressive connections. It made me realize that the next generation will naturally shape this space, and we can all learn from them (If you want to connect with the next generation: Junus Alker).
NFT Paris was a fantastic experience that showed us the power of in-person connections and the potential of the Web3 space. It was an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and learn from the best in the industry.
Now, it's time to return to work and execute a few ideas.
