NFT & Tech News, 11.08.2023
Back from my holidays, and, of course, the world did not stand still. So here are a few highlights of the last three weeks.
Sadly I did not make it to EthCC Paris. If you did not make it as well, you can watch a lot of good talks here. This one is about “Big brands and Web3”.
Mastercard's Web3 Music Accelerator dropped five new Singles as NFTs.
McNuggets Land in Sandbox? Why not!
Seems Gucci is about to begin rewarding its NFT holders with physical pieces.
EBay acquired KnownOrigin, an NFT Marketplace.
I am not surprised Apple and the NBA are working on a new viewing experience for the Apple Vision Pro.
Puma and Roc Nation unveiled an “Evolution of the Mixtape” Sneaker Collection. The sneaker comes with an NFC chip that unlocks unreleased Roc Nation music.
When talking about Hip Hop, we can’t miss Snoop. He invested via A16 into sound.xyz.
And another one. Snoop entered the ice cream business. Dr. Bombay Ice Cream is named after Snoop’s NFT character and features seven flavors.
Nike's virtual sneaker platform DotSwoosh released the 3D files of the sneakers people purchased virtually. If you know how to work with 3D software, you can now play around with them.
50% of the Fortune 100 entered Web3 – of course, the size of their investment might vary, but at least they tap into it.
Good read on how brands could enter Web3.
Paypal is launching its own Stable Coin in the US.
Mercedes launched the “second core collection,” which will be exclusively available to a small number of selected Mercedes-Benz top customers and minted IRL at certain events.
Ethiad launched a Web3 loyalty program.
Lacoste opened their virtual Summer Shop.
Doodles x Crocs collaborate with each other.
And Doodles just opened a Pop Up Store in Tokyo.
It seems not everyone was on holiday recently! Have a great weekend
Jürgen
