News, 29.08.2023
In recent weeks, I wondered which direction this newsletter should head towards.
In the past, I have written a lot about News from the Web3 world, some personal anecdotes, and some stuff from my experience in building companies and brands. It is basically based on all of my interests and experiences.
Is there anything you think I should cover? Do you have any other feedback for me? Just reply to this E-Mail …
For today, let’s focus on some of the recent Web3 and Metaverse-related news.
OK, now I can admit publicly: I love mayonnaise – and finally, it is here: the mayoverse.
Mercedes keeps iterating their “NXT-Project”. On Septeber 5 “The Era of Luxury” will be available. 6 vehicle designs, 19 colors etc – summing up into 2.694 collectibles.
Adidas and Bape work together. Great news for sneakerheads and the Web3 space. The sneakers were auctioned recently.
It's also an interesting collaboration because Bape always used a silhouette close to the AF1 for their own sneakers. And just last year, Nike decided to sue Bape for this – after almost 20 years)
BCG has built a great decision map, if your project needs Web3 technology or not.
Ledger and Paypal team up in the US.
FC Barcelona attracts a 120$ investment into its Web3 division.
Let’s stay in football, aka soccer, for a while. Eintracht Frankfurt is selling the old seats in their stadium. And each seat comes with a digital twin (German text).
The other sport, called football, is also launching something new. Patrick Mahomes works together with Azuki on some custom Azukis.
I try to imagine the German government thinking of setting up a 370 Million crypto-mining initiative. Oman just did that.
This is how good a VW Baja can look like in Unreal Engine.
Takashi Murakami will be releasing Murakami Flowers trading cards.
Google launched a fun new AI tool for “rappers, writers and wordsmiths”.
You can now play Nicki Minaj in Call of Duty.
Let’s end with mayonnaise again. Palace and McDonal’s partnered. It's just a great story and brand collaboration. Nothing tech-fancy.
Enjoy the rest of the week!
